Primary Objective of This Course

The primary objective of this course is to help students recite Quran in the way it is to be recited. The experienced teachers teach the students regarding the rules that need to be followed to recite the words and verses properly. Course Outline

Arabic letters and their sounds
Recognition of the shape of the letter in the initial, medial and final positions
Synthesis of Arabic words
Learning how to recognize short vowels (with 2 letters, 3 letters and 4 letters), long vowels (normal madd: fattah, dammah, kasrah) and sukun
Rules of using normal madd, extended madd and tanween
Rules of using fattah followed by wau or yaa sakin, extended madd, shadd
Formation of the word while properly placing the vowels on each letter, to finally forming an Arabic sentence
Perfection of skills in independent reading of the Qur’an

Teaching Method and Strategy

The students are taught the pronunciation of every alphabet.
The students are then taught the different pronunciation variations of the same alphabet in different words.
Students are also familiarized with pause and continuation signs in verses that help in better recitation.
Different rules of tajweed like Ikhfa Meem Saakin, Qalb, Ghunna and so on all are taught to the students.
The teacher recites the verses first and then the student is asked to recite the verse in the same manner.

This course aims to teach students how to recite Quran with correct pronunciation using methods of Quran Tajweed. As we know, the meaning of Quran words can change even with slight alteration of pronunciation of word.
